Environmental Engineering

Overview: This graduate emphasis covers responsible stewardship of environmental resources, energy, and materials. Students in this specialization can design a graduate program to match their individual goals and interests, including traditional study areas such as hazardous chemicals handling and safety and pollution prevention, or applied interdisciplinary research areas related to integrated natural resource management and policy.

Examples of current student research include managing indoor pollution sources (e.g., chlorinated solvents), pollution prevention and water reuse at UDOT maintenance facilities, and optimizing green infrastructure implementation to maximize water quality improvements.
