The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers ME, MS and PhD degrees. These graduate degrees provide a more focused academic experience within an area of Geotechnical, Environmental, Structural, Transportation, Hydraulics and Water Resource Engineering. Students are provided the opportunity to work on cutting edge research with faculty who are experts in their field.

Blake Tullis is a Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department and the Utah Water Research Laboratory. Blake Tullis is the Division Head for Water Division. His general areas of research interests include hydraulics of nonlinear weirs (labyrinth and piano key weirs), weir submergence, cavitation, culvert hydraulics, culvert design for environmentally sensitive installations, hydraulic resistance in channels/pipes with composite roughness, and erosion control. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed journal publications, 9 book chapters, 1 book, and over 40 peer-reviewed conference papers and presentation.
