Andrew Sorensen is an Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and carries out research on the analysis of historical and distressed structures. Recent project include the evaluation of wind turbine foundations under seismic and fatigue loading, risk analysis of reinforced concrete bridge piers subject to impact loading, and the utilzation of recycled asphalt pavement in high strength concrete mixes. His research has been funded by the Central Intelligence Agency, The National Park Service, The Department of Justice, and the Idaho Transportation Department and the results of this research have been published in refereed journals such as The Masonry Society Journal, ASCE’s Journal of Performance of Constructed Facilities, and Engineering Failure Analysis. He has also presented his work at national and international conferences.
